I think Hussey should have been dropped and I think he should step down now. It is no good prolonging the dim glory days. We need a new fresh team. Mathew Hayden should have gone much earlier - Philip Hughes might by now have dealt with his technical issues - but no, Haydos stayed around - famously saying there was more to being in the team than pure runs!
One of Ponting or Clarke should be left out for this test - that is a hard call as neither are doing well. If Ponting is unfit perhaps both should be out?
I'm sure many agree (I'm sure that is not true but I'm on a roll here!)

Funnily enough, I agree pretty well with everything you say. I thought Hayden should have bowed out or been dropped much earlier, based purely on his form, but he proved me wrong by reinvigorating his batting for a series. Hussey is no doubt the same: he shone in the recent Ashes series partly because even half-decent form had a chance to shine compared to all the rest around him. Ponting may have been good in his time, but he's past it - being tactically brilliant alone isn't good enough if you're averaging below 20 in a 5-test series. Clarke is the same. Only problem is, who can step up to be captain if both of them leave at once? Drop Ponting first, and put Clarke in as a stop-gap until someone new can be groomed as a replacement.
